Fam\u00edlias e praticantes de esportes aqu\u00e1ticos marcavam presen\u00e7a aos finais de semana para desfrutarem de sua beleza e de suas \u00e1guas limpas e calmas. Entretanto, essa descri\u00e7\u00e3o id\u00edlica ficou no passado haja vista que, hoje, a lagoa serve como dep\u00f3sito de esgoto (domiciliar e industrial) e est\u00e1 totalmente abandonada pelo poder p\u00fablico municipal.<br>Estou falando de algumas a\u00e7\u00f5es atrapalhadas da prefeitura que causou a saliniza\u00e7\u00e3o da \u00e1gua, da polui\u00e7\u00e3o causada pelo despejo de esgotos residenciais e industriais e o desmatamento, provocado pela especula\u00e7\u00e3o imobili\u00e1ria. Essas situa\u00e7\u00f5es, h\u00e1 anos, v\u00eam causando mortandade dos peixes nativos e dando o tiro de miseric\u00f3rdia de um dos nossos mais belos cart\u00f5es-postais, que deveria ser visto com mais carinho.<br>Nossa reportagem, com ajuda de Z\u00e9 Pikira, lideran\u00e7a da regi\u00e3o, registrou em fotos, um dos respons\u00e1veis, se n\u00e3o o maior, por essa desgra\u00e7a ambiental, o saneamento b\u00e1sico (ou mais propriamente, a falta dele).<br>Em 2012, a Companhia Esp\u00edrito-Santense de Saneamento (Cesan), no primeiro mandato do atual prefeito, foi vencedora do contrato, quase que bilion\u00e1rio, para implantar o sistema de amplia\u00e7\u00e3o, manuten\u00e7\u00e3o e opera\u00e7\u00e3o do Sistema de Esgotamento Sanit\u00e1rio do munic\u00edpio. Recursos de institui\u00e7\u00f5es internacionais existem, mas para que sejam utilizados requerem profissionais especializados para elabora\u00e7\u00e3o de bons projetos e isso, comprovadamente, a prefeitura esteve carente nesses \u00faltimos oito anos.
