O plano se acelerou com a chegada da pandemia do coronav\u00edrus. A produ\u00e7\u00e3o de alimentos da rede receber\u00e1 um modelo de Robot-in-a-Rail (ROAR), que passar\u00e1 a controlar a se\u00e7\u00e3o de alimentos fritos em \u00f3leo quente, como batatas fritas, por exemplo. Este sistema tem como grande forte sua mobilidade, que consegue criar tarefas em diferentes esta\u00e7\u00f5es de trabalhos distintas.<br>Este modelo tende a tornar a produ\u00e7\u00e3o mais r\u00e1pida e menos custosa ao White Castle. No entanto, n\u00e3o \u00e9 por esses motivos que a empresa anuncia ter decidido pela implementa\u00e7\u00e3o de um sistema automatizado. Pelo contr\u00e1rio, a empresa anunciou que o motivo principal da decis\u00e3o foram as necessidades de distanciamento social durante a pandemia.<br>Isto teria levado os gestores da rede a decidir por acelerar um plano de automa\u00e7\u00e3o da cozinha, come\u00e7ando pela \u00e1rea de frituras da produ\u00e7\u00e3o.
