A primeira \u00e9 muito conhecida pelos moradores e \u00e9 repetida h\u00e1 muitos anos na cidade: <strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">a lenda do Porto do Velho.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"560\" height=\"60\" src=\"https:\/\/jornalfatosenoticias.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Propaganda-RC-Radiadores-Jornal_page-0001.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-35270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jornalfatosenoticias.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Propaganda-RC-Radiadores-Jornal_page-0001.jpg 560w, https:\/\/jornalfatosenoticias.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Propaganda-RC-Radiadores-Jornal_page-0001-300x32.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>O autor Ant\u00f4nio C\u00e2ndido da Silva, na d\u00e9cada de 1960, escreveu o livro Enganos da Nossa Hist\u00f3ria, onde contou a lenda de um velho lenhador chamado Pimentel, que trabalhava em um porto no rio Madeira, cortando lenha para navios \u00e0 vapor na \u00e9poca do ciclo da borracha, final do s\u00e9culo XIX. Quem chegava \u00e0 regi\u00e3o, a chamava de Porto do velho Pimentel, que com passar do tempo, teria se tornado o nome Porto Velho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jornalfatosenoticias.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/logo-clinica-limoeiro.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34610\" width=\"321\" height=\"228\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Apesar da hist\u00f3ria ser bastante conhecida na capital, n\u00e3o h\u00e1 comprova\u00e7\u00e3o sobre a exist\u00eancia de Pimentel, e por isso, a narrativa ficou conhecida como uma lenda. Conforme a historiadora Rita Vieira, o motivo &#8220;oficial&#8221; para o nome do munic\u00edpio se deu em meados da Guerra do Paraguai, entre 1864 a 1870.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/jornalfatosenoticias.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/arte-Casarao.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33178\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A guerra envolveu parte do estado do Mato Grosso e por isso, o governo brasileiro construiu um porto para militares que participaram do conflito na regi\u00e3o onde, atualmente, \u00e9 localizada a capital rondoniense. Depois que a guerra acabou e o Brasil foi vitorioso, o porto e o munic\u00edpio ficaram abandonados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jornalfatosenoticias.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/logo-embacia-1-1024x110.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33954\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Foi ent\u00e3o que, por volta de 1907 e 1912, a Estrada de Ferro Madeira Mamor\u00e9 (EFMM) come\u00e7ou a ser constru\u00edda pela empresa de Percival Farquhar, \u00e0s margens do Rio Madeira.
