O rover Perseverance capturou a foto \u00e0s 4h27 no dia 1.\u00ba de mar\u00e7o. A c\u00e2mera de navega\u00e7\u00e3o esquerda do ve\u00edculo usou seu tempo m\u00e1ximo de longa exposi\u00e7\u00e3o de 3,28 segundos para cada uma das 16 fotos, combinadas em uma \u00fanica imagem enviada \u00e0 Terra. A pouca luz e a exposi\u00e7\u00e3o causam ru\u00eddo digital, tornando a imagem nebulosa.<br>Portanto, muitos dos pontos brancos no c\u00e9u podem ser ru\u00eddo, embora alguns possam ser raios c\u00f3smicos. Essas crateras, no entanto, costumam ter menos de 2,5 quil\u00f4metros de di\u00e2metro, sem os sulcos e cristas de Fobos (outra lua de Marte), cujas crateras s\u00e3o cerca de cinco vezes maior. Entretanto, a gravidade de Marte \u2014 planeta cujo Deimos orbita a cada 30 horas \u2014 mant\u00e9m um anel desses detritos ao redor do planeta, aproximadamente na mesma regi\u00e3o em que a lua orbita.
