Cientistas identificaram um novo tipo sangu\u00edneo raro, chamado Gwada negativo, em uma mulher de Guadalupe, no Caribe<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uma mulher nascida na ilha de Guadalupe, no Caribe, foi identificada como a \u00fanica portadora conhecida de um novo\u00a0tipo sangu\u00edneo<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0chamado provisoriamente de \u201cGwada negativo\u201d. A confirma\u00e7\u00e3o foi feita pela Ag\u00eancia de Sangue da Fran\u00e7a (EFS, na sigla em franc\u00eas). O an\u00fancio da descoberta ocorreu cerca de 15 anos ap\u00f3s a coleta da amostra de sangue da paciente, que passava por exames pr\u00e9-operat\u00f3rios de rotina. Na ocasi\u00e3o, os cientistas identificaram um anticorpo<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> incomum, mas, na \u00e9poca, n\u00e3o tinham recursos suficientes para aprofundar os estudos.
Segundo comunicado do EFS, publicado na rede social LinkedIn, o grupo sangu\u00edneo descoberto foi oficialmente reconhecido em junho deste ano, durante um encontro da Sociedade Internacional de Transfus\u00e3o de Sangue (ISBT), em Mil\u00e3o, na It\u00e1lia. Com isso, o mundo passa a contar com 48 sistemas de grupos sangu\u00edneos, contra os 47 anteriormente catalogados. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

O EFS acaba de descobrir o 48.\u00ba sistema de grupo sangu\u00edneo do mundo!\u201d, afirmou a entidade. A paciente, que atualmente vive em Paris, tinha 54 anos na \u00e9poca dos primeiros exames, realizados em 2011.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

O avan\u00e7o nas pesquisas s\u00f3 foi poss\u00edvel anos depois, gra\u00e7as ao uso do sequenciamento gen\u00e9tico de alta capacidade, t\u00e9cnica que permitiu identificar uma muta\u00e7\u00e3o<\/a><\/strong> at\u00e9 ent\u00e3o desconhecida. O processo, conclu\u00eddo em 2019, solucionou um mist\u00e9rio que j\u00e1 durava quase uma d\u00e9cada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De acordo com Thierry Peyrard, bi\u00f3logo m\u00e9dico do EFS envolvido na descoberta, a mulher \u00e9 \u201ca \u00fanica pessoa no mundo que \u00e9 compat\u00edvel com ela mesma\u201d. Isso ocorre porque ela herdou a muta\u00e7\u00e3o gen\u00e9tica tanto do pai quanto da m\u00e3e, o que resultou na forma\u00e7\u00e3o desse grupo sangu\u00edneo extremamente raro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O nome escolhido, \u201cGwada negativo\u201d, faz refer\u00eancia direta \u00e0s origens da paciente e, segundo os pesquisadores, tamb\u00e9m foi pensado por soar bem em diferentes idiomas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Descoberta pode beneficiar outros pacientes no futuro

\ud83d\udd39 \u201cDescobrir novos grupos sangu\u00edneos significa oferecer um melhor n\u00edvel de cuidado para esses pacientes\u201d, refor\u00e7ou a institui\u00e7\u00e3o.
