Se depender dos cientistas da Academia Chinesa de Ci\u00eancias, isto ser\u00e1 poss\u00edvel em breve: eles est\u00e3o desenvolvendo um tipo de gr\u00e3o transg\u00eanico que cont\u00e9m v\u00e1rios pept\u00eddeos anti-hipertensivos.<br>Segundo um estudo publicado na edi\u00e7\u00e3o de junho do peri\u00f3dico\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pubs.acs.org\/doi\/10.1021\/acs.jafc.0c01958\"><em>Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry<\/em><\/a> (Revista de Qu\u00edmica Agr\u00edcola e Alimentar), quando administrado a ratos <a href=\"https:\/\/revistagalileu.globo.com\/Ciencia\/noticia\/2018\/01\/musica-instrumental-pode-melhorar-efeito-de-remedios-para-hipertensao.html\">hipertensos<\/a>, o arroz diminuiu a press\u00e3o sangu\u00ednea dos animais. O tratamento com farinha feita a partir do gr\u00e3o tamb\u00e9m surtiu resultado, reduzindo a press\u00e3o sangu\u00ednea por at\u00e9 uma semana depois.<br>Os pesquisadores introduziram nas plantas de <a href=\"https:\/\/revistagalileu.globo.com\/Ciencia\/noticia\/2017\/02\/forma-como-voce-cozinha-o-arroz-pode-prejudicar-sua-saude.html\">arroz<\/a> um gene que consiste em nove pept\u00eddeos inibidores de enzima de convers\u00e3o da angiotensina (ECA), envolvida na regula\u00e7\u00e3o da press\u00e3o arterial, e em um pept\u00eddeo respons\u00e1vel por relaxar os vasos sangu\u00edneos. Os pesquisadores ent\u00e3o extra\u00edram a prote\u00edna total (que inclui todos esses pept\u00eddeos) do arroz transg\u00eanico e a administrou em <a href=\"https:\/\/revistagalileu.globo.com\/Ciencia\/noticia\/2017\/10\/entenda-por-que-cientistas-usam-ratos-de-laboratorio-como-cobaias.html\">ratos<\/a>.<br>Duas horas ap\u00f3s o tratamento, os camundongos hipertensos mostraram uma redu\u00e7\u00e3o na press\u00e3o do <a href=\"https:\/\/revistagalileu.globo.com\/Ciencia\/Saude\/noticia\/2020\/04\/como-funciona-o-processo-de-doacao-de-sangue-durante-pandemia.html\">sangue<\/a>, enquanto os tratados com prote\u00ednas de arroz normal n\u00e3o.
