Elas foram encontradas no munic\u00edpio de Campos Belos, no nordeste de Goi\u00e1s, pr\u00f3ximo \u00e0 divisa com Tocantins e Bahia, em uma \u00e1rea particular da Serra Geral.<br>As estruturas, que podem chegar a tr\u00eas metros de altura, se formam por meio da\u00a0<mark>eros\u00e3o diferencial<\/mark>: uma rocha mais resistente no topo protege o sedimento mais fr\u00e1gil abaixo, enquanto os arredores se desgastam com o tempo. O resultado s\u00e3o colunas esculpidas naturalmente, com uma apar\u00eancia que lembra torres ou cogumelos de pedra. A revela\u00e7\u00e3o despertou interesse de institui\u00e7\u00f5es ambientais e cient\u00edficas, que agora discutem medidas de <a href=\"https:\/\/aventurasnahistoria.com.br\/noticias\/historia-hoje\/pesquisadores-testam-criopreservacao-de-ovos-de-borboletas.phtml\">prote\u00e7\u00e3o<\/a> para o local.
